In the 1950’s Tony Vasaturo left Naples, Italy with his two brothers. Landing in New York, Tony began his American dream.
So was born, Vesuvio Foods, named for the highest peak in southern Italy.Tony did what he knew best. Coming from a strong tradition to ethnic Italian foods, Vesuvio Foods provided dairy products to pizzerias in the Brooklyn area. As his customers grew to expect Tony’s excellent service, they began to tell their friends and families. The company grew under Tony’s watchful eye and in 1972, added grocery items to the dairy products, becoming a "One Stop Shop", for Italian foods.
Today, with the family’s "Next Generation" firmly at the helm, the old world traditions remain, but with a contemporary approach. From Vesuvio’s modern distribution facility, 2500 items for pizzerias, fine Italian restaurants and gourmet shops are delivered each day to New York, New Jersey, Long Island, Pennsylvania & Connecticut. Sales reps, trained in the art of menu enhancements and food cost analysis, will assist in helping your business grow.
In 1995, Vesuvio Foods joined Bellissimo Foods, an association of the best pizzeria and Italian food distributors in the nation. Bellissimo Foods recognized Vesuvio as the leader in the New York metro market.
